Isidoro Ramos is a versatile trumpeter, educator, and student based in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Known primarily for his work as a commercial and lead trumpet player, he is fluent across a wide range of musical styles and performance settings. His experience spans leading a big band section, soloing in jazz combos, and performing classical trumpet in both concert and solo contexts.
He is currently pursuing a degree in Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas, where he holds the prestigious position of Lead Trumpet in the Grammy-nominated One O’clock Lab Band under the direction of Alan Baylock. In addition, he serves as the solo trumpet chair in the Latin Jazz Lab Band led by José Aponte.
Isidoro has toured throughout Europe performing Broadway and theater productions with Cunard aboard the Queen Victoria cruise ship, where he served as Commercial/Lead Trumpet. Prior to relocating to North Texas, he performed as a trumpet player with the United States Army Regional Band. During his military service, he was deployed to Afghanistan, where he served as a Command Bugler in support of Operation Resolute Support.
He has collaborated with a wide array of distinguished artists and ensembles, including the Grammy Award–winning 8-Bit Big Band, the Grammy-nominated One O’clock Lab Band, the El Paso Symphony Orchestra, The Brad Leali Tentet, David Sánchez, Bradford Leali, Rob Parton, Lyle Lovett, Billy Childs, Rufus Reid, Philip Dizack, Steve Davis, Ken Ebo, Rich DeRosa, Alan Baylock, Shelley Carrol, Quincy Davis, Allison Miller, Marvin Stamm, Mike Steinel, Tony Baker, José Aponte, Matt Wilson, Jeff Lederer, Dawn Clement, and Tia Fuller.
His musical development has been shaped by an outstanding roster of teachers and mentors, including Brian Moreno, Matthew Raines, Alan Baylock, Caleb Hudson, Bradford Leali, Quincy Davis, Fredrick Sanders, Renee McGee, Paul Stephens, Rob Parton, Philip Dizack, Rodney Booth, José Aponte, John Holt, and Ken Ebo.
